Top Ten Tuesday: My Fall ’20 TBR 🍁🍂

Hi friends, happy Tuesday and happy Autumn! I looked it up and, according to Google, September 22nd is officially the first day of Fall. I personally am thinking “finally!” because I truly believe this season is the best with all it’s thick sweaters, hot cafe drinks, and crunchy leaves! Plus, the heat is finally dying down in my area and I’ve started to whip out the fuzzy socks, so it truly feels like I am living out a dream right now.

Today’s post will be dedicated to a fun meme here in the blogworld, Top Ten Tuesday! Every week there is a new, exciting topic to create a bookish list for ranging anywhere from genres to characters, to quotes and more! It is hosted by the lovely That Artsy Reader Girl so be sure to check out her site for more information.

The topic for this Tuesday is “Books On My Fall 2020 TBR“. Sadly, since I am away at college, most of my autumnal-themed books are at home. Instead, I will be reading some books from genres that get me in a more cozy mood such as mysteries, thrillers, and fantasies. I am going to try and knock out some backlisted titles but I may splurge and purchase a few fall looking reads just to get in the spirt of things!

Animal Crossing Book Tag 🌸 aka i haven’t played in weeks and i feel guilty asf

Did you play Animal Crossing for over 400 hours at the height of COVID and now you’re too burnt out to play the game again? Are you feeling tremendous guilt for leaving your beloved villagers to fend for themselves against an onslaught of weeds and new seasonal bugs? Is all this guilt leading you to doing an Animal Crossing Book Tag to make up for everything you just said? No? Just me? Alright, cool.

Animal Crossing GIFs | Tenor

I may not be in the mood to play animal crossing at the moment, but that doesn’t mean I love it any less or am giving up on my dream of the perfect, modern Greece-styled island. Playing the game will be on the back-burner for a while, but in the meantime I thought I would morph my love for it into something else… like a book tag!

The Animal Crossing Book Tag was created by Bookish Tea and Things so all thanks to her for coming up with these amazing questions! ♡

Review: American Royals by Katharine McGee

American Royals by Katharine McGee

Release: September 3, 2019

Publisher: Random House for Young Readers

Source: Hardcover (US)

Pages: 437

Rating: ★★★.5☆☆ (3.5/5)

Synopsis via Goodreads: What if America had a royal family?

When America won the Revolutionary War, its people offered General George Washington a crown. Two and a half centuries later, the House of Washington still sits on the throne.

As Princess Beatrice gets closer to becoming America’s first queen regnant, the duty she has embraced her entire life suddenly feels stifling.

Nobody cares about the spare except when she’s breaking the rules, so Princess Samantha doesn’t care much about anything, either . . . except the one boy who is distinctly off-limits to her.

And then there’s Samantha’s twin, Prince Jefferson. If he’d been born a generation earlier, he would have stood first in line for the throne, but the new laws of succession make him third. Most of America adores their devastatingly handsome prince . . . but two very different girls are vying to capture his heart.

Raised to be a warrior, seventeen-year-old Eelyn fights alongside her Aska clansmen in an ancient, rivalry against the Riki clan. Her life is brutal but simple: fight and survive. Until the day she sees the impossible on the battlefield—her brother, fighting with the enemy—the brother she watched die five years ago.

Faced with her brother’s betrayal, she must survive the winter in the mountains with the Riki, in a village where every neighbor is an enemy, every battle scar possibly one she delivered. But when the Riki village is raided by a ruthless clan thought to be a legend, Eelyn is even more desperate to get back to her beloved family.

She is given no choice but to trust Fiske, her brother’s friend, who sees her as a threat. They must do the impossible: unite the clans to fight together, or risk being slaughtered one by one. Driven by a love for her clan and her growing love for Fiske, Eelyn must confront her own definition of loyalty and family while daring to put her faith in the people she’s spent her life hating.
